Hello, my name is Don Campbell. While working at Microsoft as the technical evangelist for Office Live, I was introduced to the concept of virtual phone systems.
Office Live is Microsoft’s offering for small business owners. While building the first 30 partnerships, I spent a lot of time talking to small business owners and identifying the most important areas for our customers. It turns out that virtual PBX phone systems are a very cost-effective way of providing sophisticated phone services for small business owners, and were at the top of the list.
The service I’m most familiar with is RingCentral, and its the one I use for my business. I have friends that use other virtual phone services like Phone.com and VirtualPBX.
I’ve built this website as a resource for small business owners who are considering a virtual phone system instead of a traditional hardware PBX for their business communications. You’ll find articles, interviews, comparisons and reviews of the various providers and what each of their trade-offs are.
